My work is in conversation with the construction of ideas.
Mixed Media collage is an ideal medium for constructing and visualizing memory and the the ability for images to auto-generate and pick up where the mind leaves off. The atemporal nature of images that have been removed from their context reflects the nature of memory and thought. This is especially true of dream-like states. Images knit together, overlap, and fragment in a seemingly sensical or illustrative manor although unreliable and faulty when analyzed. All of these ideas are paralleled in the perception of memory.
My love of learning plays a role in the source material used. I find interest and beauty in the intricacy of the physical world that often connects with themes of construction and destruction. The knowledge that moves and fascinates me often dictates subject matter.
